vanRaam sitting tricycles

The Easy Rider and Easy Rider Compact are sitting tricycles from vanRaam with a low entry level. Both bikes have a unique frame so the center of gravity of the bikes is lower than with regular (three wheel) bikes. On both bikes you make a forward pedaling motion, in combination with the suspension in the frame, this ensures a perfect riding comfort.Although the Easy Rider and Easy Rider Compact have many similarities, there are also some important differences. We list the most important differences:

1. Dimensions

The main difference between the bikes are the people the bikes are suitable for. This is because the Easy Rider Compact is specially designed for small adults and children, so that they can also enjoy the benefits of a sitting tricycle. The Easy Rider Compact is suitable for persons with an inner leg length of 63-81 cm.

The Easy Rider is available in two frame sizes. Frame size (M) medium is suitable for persons with an inner leg length of 65-88 cm and (L) large for an inner leg length of 85-108 cm.

The dimensions of the Easy Rider Compact are therefore smaller than the Easy Rider. For example, the Easy Rider Compact is 173 cm long and the Easy Rider 225 cm (frame size medium).

2. Wheel sizes

The wheels of the Easy Rider sitting tricycle are both front and rear 20 inches. The rear wheels of the Easy Rider Compact are also 20 inches, however, the front wheel is 16 inches. This contributes to the compact design of the bike.

3. Luggage platform / luggage frame for bicycle bag

The way you can transport things with the bike is different The Easy Rider has a standard luggage platform with quick-release straps, on which things can be taken. The Easy Rider Compact has a luggage frame mounted on the backrest. A single-sided bicycle bag can easily be attached to this, which can also be removed and in which you can store your belongings. The luggage frame is suitable for most single sided panniers.

4. Anti-tip wheels

The Easy Rider Compact comes standard with anti-tipping wheels. In normal use, on flat road surfaces, the bike will not tip backwards. If the bike reverses on a steep slope (up to 10%) and you brake, the bike could tip over. The anti-tipping wheels will keep you from tilting backwards. Check the Easy Rider Compact user manual for all safety precautions for cycling on a slope. The instruction manual can be found on the product page of the Easy Rider Compact.

5. Location of the battery on the bike

The way the battery is placed on the bike differs. In the electric Easy Rider and Easy Rider Compact, the battery is placed between the rear wheels. The battery of the Easy Rider Compact is placed perpendicular to the bicycle, unlike the Easy Rider. This is chosen because of the compact design of the bike. See the article with video 'Attaching and removing battery on the Easy Rider Compact' how to mount and remove the battery on the tricycle. The Easy Rider with pedal assistance can be optionally equipped with 2 batteries. The Easy Rider Compact with 1 battery.
