The Permobil / Progero Tekna Advance Swing features a shortened folding frame, with the rearward crossbrace system hidden discreetly under the seat.
It therefore has a much cleaner and more "open" look to it than a traditional folding wheelchair, and is also lighter too. It can be folded up in the normal way to reduce to a compact size that will fit in the back of most cars.
 
The legrests can be swung away either inwards or outwards, or removed entirely. This makes transfers into and out of your wheelchair as easy as possible.
 
Customisation
 
Like all Progeo wheelchairs, the Tekna Advance Swing is bull This allows all aspects of it to be personalised - most importantly, the wheelchair is built to your exact size, with seat width, seat depth, front and rear seat height, backrest height and angle and more all matched to your requirements. All aspects of the wheelchair can be built with a variety of options, including sideguards, footplates, wheels, handrims and tyres.
 
This also allows for the seating to be set up to provide high levels of postural support should your requirements be more complex, and third party backrests, positioning accessories and cushions can be supplied alongside the Tekna. A good amount of post-supply adjustments are possible, allowing tweaks to ensure it continues to suit over the years.
 
The appearance of the Tekna Advance can be personalised too - and it really is a stylish wheelchair, showing off the best of Italian design, although the photos perhaps don't do it justice. The frame is available in either black, silver or white, and a choice of nine accent colours lets you match your wheelchair to your style.
